I voted for her...so what?
I'm joining the bandwagon (of PJ and Monje) and giving my two centavos worth (hehe pinoy na pinoy tayo Peej eh) on the political situation. The Jackass put it well: "Who didn't cheat in the last election?"
Yeah, the tape was acquired illegally. But why does the opposition continue to distribute copies of that recorded conversation even if it's invalid court evidence? Because they know so well that valid evidence or not, Juan dela Cruz will judge her based on that anyway. Mrs. President is the antagonist they are trying to establish in a telenovela. I wouldn't be surprised if that recorded conversation triggers another "EDSA Revolution"; just like Erap was overthrown without even being convicted guilty yet.
I've seen us Filipinos thriving too much on emotion. Like a banana republic, we have been accustomed to impeaching the next president anytime we felt he/she wasn't good enough...and with how the people are responding, NO ONE IS good enough. And all it takes is an influential few to organize a majority to destabilize the government. In short, our country has become a large scale U.P. full of "aktibista's" (hehe sorry to my friends from UP, but you know it's true).
So here's the bottomline (since I'm getting sleepy, haha): She's not a great president. Heck, she's not even a good president in the true sense of the word. But as long as we can't find a replacement whom no one would want to overthrow, keep her impeachment out of the question. Our incompetent government is all that we have for now, and destabilizing it will only make things worse...unless you're a Noli De Castro fan...
Let's go Detroit Pistons!!
